Challenge
Velesto wanted a modern EAM capability for offshore drilling while preferring proven best-practice workflows over unnecessary custom development. The local delivery organisation had no established commercial or operating model for Maximo SaaS.
Principal Consultant Contribution
Converted relationships developed with IBM ecosystem partners into a back-to-back SaaS arrangement spanning a US SaaS provider, the local implementation organisation and the prime contractor.
Built the delivery team and established SaaS-compatible customisation guidelines, working with TRM so the solution remained suitable for future platform upgrades.
Leveraged TRM’s ready-to-use Asset Management and Work Management workflows so Velesto could adopt proven practice rather than recreate standard processes.
Structured implementation, support and maintenance, and annual subscription revenue over five years while managing cash-flow exposure caused by delays in other ERP and HR workstreams.
Approach
- Structured licensing and commercial responsibilities across multiple partner organisations.
- Adopted proven Asset Management and Work Management workflows as the SaaS baseline.
- Limited customisation to genuine business requirements.
- Aligned local development with SaaS upgrade-compatibility guidelines.
- Managed subscriptions and services commercially despite external programme dependencies.
Outcome
Established a new Maximo SaaS delivery and recurring-revenue model for the organisation while supporting Velesto’s EAM implementation within a wider offshore enterprise transformation.
Business Value
- Accelerated delivery by starting from mature best-practice workflows.
- Reduced customisation and future upgrade risk.
- Created a sustainable recurring-revenue and support model.
- Connected international SaaS expertise with local implementation capability.
