Challenge
TNB required an enterprise APM implementation that could operate within its established BRD-to-design-to-UAT delivery lifecycle and support its RCM and repair/replacement decision methodology. The product organisation was initially focused on product capability rather than fitting the technology into TNB’s formal engineering and delivery processes.
Principal Consultant Contribution
Established the delivery bridge between TNB’s SDLC, reliability methodology and the APM product, mapping requirements from BRD through solution design, asset-model configuration and validation.
Reshaped product-oriented presentations, workshops and project materials into consulting-led deliverables centred on customer requirements, methodology, solution design, validation and business outcomes.
Where required capabilities were still evolving, coordinated product enhancements through controlled roadmap and sprint commitments while managing customer expectations and protecting achievable milestones.
Approach
- Mapped TNB’s BRD-driven SDLC into the APM delivery lifecycle.
- Established traceability from business requirements through asset models and UAT.
- Aligned APM functionality with TNB’s RCM and repair/replacement methodology.
- Converted product demonstrations into structured consulting workshops.
- Coordinated evolving product capabilities with global product teams.
- Managed programme governance, risks, dependencies and contractual milestones.
Outcome
Created a practical bridge between reliability engineering, enterprise SDLC governance and an evolving APM platform, reducing the risk of deploying technology that did not fit TNB’s operating methodology.
Business Value
- Improved traceability between engineering requirements, asset models, functionality and acceptance testing.
- Strengthened alignment between asset-health information, maintenance strategy and replacement decisions.
- Created a more disciplined customer-facing delivery model for enterprise APM.
